Vientiane’s cafe scene is booming, and if you’re a serious coffee aficionado, Tit Kafe should be on your must-visit list. True to its name, which translates to “coffee addiction” in English, this cafe is all about celebrating the bean.

Stepping into Tit Kafe, you’re greeted by a sleek and modern atmosphere. A cool coffee bar takes center stage, inviting you to explore their unique brews. Whether you’re a fan of classic lattes and americanos or want to get adventurous with funky nitro cold brew, Tit Kafe has something to tantalize your taste buds.
Their menu boasts a wide selection of coffee beverages, from iced concoctions perfect for a hot Laotian day to creamy hot drinks for a cozy afternoon pick-me-up. They also offer creative options like the Melon Matcha Latte with green tea jelly, a delightful fusion sure to intrigue coffee enthusiasts.

While coffee is the star of the show, Tit Kafe isn’t a one-trick pony. They also offer a selection of teas and other beverages to cater to different preferences. In the evening, the cafe transforms into a cocktail bar and beer house, providing a stylish spot to unwind after a long day. You don’t have to wait for the evening to enjoy a cold beer however. You can grab yourself a coldie throughout the day. During my visit in Aplil/May 2022, the world was just re-opening. Their kitchen upstairs was not trading so the food offerings were just light snacks. However more recently they have gone back to full trade and the full food menu is available.
Local Favorite, Tourist-Friendly
Online reviews rave about Tit Kafe’s coffee, with many praising its quality and unique flavor profiles. They also mention the friendly staff, making it a welcoming spot for both locals and tourists. Come 5pm this place fills up fast with locals catching up for after work drinks. Coincidently the Happy Hour starts at 5pm also. This brings us to the main question. Is this the home of the World’s Cheapest Beer? Well, yes…. and no maybe? I have not been everywhere in the world so I can’t say for sure it’s the world’s cheapest. I can however confirm this is the cheapest I have found thus far in my travels. The happy hour price of a 330ml glass of Beer Lao Draught was 6ooo Kip. At the time of writing this that equates to $0.43Au or $0.29US.

Tit Kafe is located on Rue Samsenthai in Vientiane and is open until Late. For those who can’t make it in person, they even offer delivery through foodpanda. So, next time you’re craving a caffeine fix (or a cheap, cold beer) in Vientiane, look no further than Tit Kafe. With its inviting atmosphere, delicious coffee creations, and friendly service, it’s the perfect spot to relax, recharge, and explore the world of coffee. I stayed right next door in the hotel called 1M. It was very convenient to have such a cool place so close. The signs say they close at 7pm but it was still full and jumping way past 9pm while I was in town so it might pay to check at the time of year you visit.
